I loved the book "Littluns, AND THE BOOK OF DARKNESS!!!" I am looking forward to reading the sequel!! There has to be one! I found the travels of Sneetz, both exciting and frustrating! I wanted so badly for the one issue to be different although it was what it had to be!  A very creative solution!

His Grossness will create a wonderful image in a child's mind as his descriptive sounds and utterances cause giggles galore!

A more evil creation than Equassym Enturim as the Necromancer could not be better described by the author. I had the feeling that this evil entity could not be detained without a Higher Power intervening. I was holding my breath through out the ending! Whew!

Mark Glamack has taken the best of many thoughts of enlightened souls and turned it into a tale that will weave joy and intrigue through the imaginations of young and old alike.

Review for Novel ”The Littluns” by Mark Glamack

The Littluns is a wonderful story!  The characters immediately draw you into this fantasy novel.  Once inside the story, you feel yourself transported into this world of magic.  Awesome.

The Littluns is an adventure about friendship, loyalty, courage and determination.  The main character has to face a task which involves life and death.  While others before him who have been given this task have returned successfully, there is still a chance that he may not.  The character must rely on his strength and courage to complete the task and hopefully return home.  He experiences fear, sadness, danger and ultimately...well you'll have to experience it for yourself.  Along the way, he strengthens the bonds with his friends who are traveling with him and develops new friendships too. I, also, experienced these same feelings while reading the Littluns.

There is a struggle between good and evil that is similar to that of the Harry Potter series because the main characters use their courage, determination and a little bit of magic to overcome the forces of evil.

I found the setting and the rest of the characters very intriguing.  The way they go about doing their every day things made me interested in reading more.  I loved the way the author displayed the strong friendships in the novel.  The friends are supportive of each other and each others’ ideas and opinions. They are loyal to each other even when separated by evil.  He gives a wonderful example of what true friendships should be!

I was always excited to read further in the Littluns to see what was going to happen next, who was going where, who was going to do what, and how they succeeded in overcoming their fears.  I hope the author writes a sequel to the Littluns because I would like to see what happens to this world when evil no longer rules.  I thought the Littluns was an inspiring story of loyalty and hard work.  It is a great book for students and adults alike.

                                                                      Novel Review

What could possibly happen?

Every precaution is taken that nothing will happen on an annual outing of renewal.

In the very secret Hollow Hills, civic duty calls upon five Littluns to go out into the land of Terra Fermata and find new things to bring back.  Being completely isolated from the rest of Terra Fermata, the Littlun way of life is innocent, and very happy.

Out they go… where an outing becomes a journey of survival against the most wretched characters you will ever meet, and the pinnacle of consummate evil, The Necromancer. So much so, the reader will want to be sure their door is locked and there are more lights on than just the reading lamp!

However, with darkness there must be light(ness) in good storytelling.

Elderond of the light, thank goodness, is brought into the story, which gives healing, and wisdom, with sprinkles of magic that gives the reader a wonderful respite.  There are other most astounding characters of light to help console the reader along the way and, whew!, do we need them!

The story is complex but fast moving and easily understood along with many plot twists that I didn't’t see coming!  Also there is nothing here that parents should find offensive.

After finishing the book, several days later I was talking to a friend and mentioned that I saw this really great movie.  He asked me what the name was and I said Littluns.  I paused and thought - hey wait a minute that wasn't a movie that was a book I read!

Littluns Critique

The Littluns was an amazing and different reading experience. It was like a movie, going through each page with artistically colored pictures depicting the scene on every other page.

The book is about a group of friends, going out of there haven up in the mountains, a nice warm place where everyone is nice, as nice as can be, into a world where evil spreads like the plague. They go down to find new recipes, seeds, and inventions to use in their own little world. They are split up early into the hunt, and find get mixed up into an evil being spread into the world by the Necromancer. The Necromancer’s goal is to take over the whole country, bend everyone to His will.

As Sneetz, as the main character is called, goes through the process of finding himself, he learns what life is truly like, the hardships in it, and the friendships you can make. Littluns shows what life is like, how everyone eventually goes through it to the end, and how things can be lost, and never found.

The Littluns is an amazing Christian book, showing what life is like for everyone, and what life will be like as it shows in the last Book, in an amazing twist of fantasy.

I recommend the book to anyone; it is for any age, from a small child, to an elderly couple, to people who just want to read it for the genre, or to people who want to read it for the message in it. This book is one of the best reading experiences I have had in my entire life. Enjoy.

                                                        RE:  Review of “LITTLUNS” Novel

Extraordinary, to say the least, “Littluns”, by author and illustrator Mark Glamack, is a novel that is hard to put

down.  In fact, you would not want to take this book to bed at night hoping that it will help you fall asleep.

Instead, it will keep you up to late in the night!

“Littluns” was such a pleasure to read that I would read it over and over again.  Some readers will read the book

as pure fantasy, and enjoy the author’s imaginary world.  Others will be able to relate to parts of the story, as

when making the choice of good or evil, and everyday life encounters.  While some will go deeper into the reality

and spiritual aspects of this truly brilliant masterpiece.

Mr. Glamack’s properly timed placements of the illustrations will help the reader visualize the animated characters

and environment.  Throughout the entire novel, every little detail of the events taking place puts the reader

inside the book.  I actually found myself acting out some of these details.  Mark Glamack’s unique talent will set

the stage for the reader, as if you feel that you are in the Movie Theater.

Refreshing, from a Parent’s point of view, is knowing that “Littluns” is written absent of inappropriate and

offensive language, and will not affect the onset and continued interest of  the reader.  The book stays in

balance with humor, terror, innocence, action, morals, truth, sadness, hope, and feelings.  The reader will find

this novel impossible to predict and full of surprises.

It has been an honor and privilege to have been one of the first few chosen to read this unique novel, “Littluns” --
A book of Light.

What a brilliant book! It takes you on ride through magical settings and entertains from beginning to end! I look forward to reading the next book! Pass it on to all!

About "Littluns" page 3

                                                                     About "Littluns"

“Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.” (Revelation 20, 1–3)

                    Littluns
            AND THE BOOK OF DARKNESS

Of Light and Life there is The Book of Light

Of all that has been or will be corrupted, there is The Book of Darkness

                 One empowers individuals

The other has power over them

The story of Littluns begins long ago, and far away, somewhere between reality and eternity
, where there became a self-contained land of mountains, deserts, valleys, and plains that reached far and wide to the shores and spotted islands on a deep blue sea. This land was named Terra Fermata for the sake of the new earth’s musical pause of harmony and peace after the war to end all wars conclude with its long history now all but completely forgotten. Disturbingly, over recent years, the blessings of peace and harmony were replaced with anarchy and chaos where its inhabitants, once again, through jealousies, intolerances, indifferences, and greed, began turning on their neighbors.

The lands of Terra Fermata have many cities and towns connected by an intricate series of roads and rivers. There’s the isolated northern city of Ephesus Cam Coo Nick to which few have journeyed because of its bitter cold and rugged terrain. However, those seeking spiritual enlightenment make the journey to this city before continuing the long and challenging climb up Marble Mountain to a retreat, a community of holy men at its summit.  Once or twice a year an enlightened few, returning home with supplies, join the community’s residents.  Its name is Atrium Nimbus, the Monastery of Light. It is written that, in ancient times, the heavens opened over the summit of Marble Mountain and a monastery was miraculously created. It was given a name of illumination and, to this day, that name, Atrium Nimbus, means entrance to the circle of light.

Here also, God wrote of truth, love, hope, joy, the heart’s desires and enlightenment and named it Eucatastrophe, the Book of Light, and Life.  The first two letters of the title, Eu, reverse and remove all the resulting and damaging effects of a catastrophe, changing its meaning completely. Those who are of the Light will have their names entered for all time in this Book and will have become worthy of His omnipresent Light by virtue of enduring the trial He sent them.

In recent times, other interests, diversions, and a loss of faith have prevailed. There have been even fewer willing to brave the harsh elements to reach the holy cleansing and sanctity of the mountain’s retreat.

Many creatures, including goblins, trolls, dwarves, man, mutants, and one surviving serpant, Dragon inhabit this land along with others who are less conspicuous. Least conspicuous of all and only a myth to outsiders were, or I should say are, Littluns. Talk of Littluns, or Fairy–fairies as the dwarf children call them, has become a part of dwarf folklore that goes back as far as anyone can remember. Over the years dwarf children would dress up with large ears made of woven straw connected together into a hat-like dome that sat over their heads, covered with woolen strands that looked like hair. They then would make large sock–like slippers sewn with loose wool strands that would result in the appearance of furry feet. Of course, to accurately complete their fun, the dwarf boy or girl must be no more than three feet tall. Over the years many sightings of Littluns have been the topic of conversations until, of course, the dwarf children are caught in the act.

Although Littluns are just an ancient myth, unbeknownst to the rest of the world, Littluns really do exist! Northwest from the city of Ephesus Cam Coo Nick and hidden within the impenetrable snow–covered exterior walls of Powder Mountain, and secret to the rest of the world, is God’s perfect creation, the protected, self–contained, pure and peaceful valley of Hollow Hills, and Land of the Littluns.

The crater valley is thousands of feet above the base of the mountain with only one accessible entrance and one exit, keeping outsiders away.

The outside world below holds little interest to Littluns. It’s not that they don’t know about such things and what goes on out there; they know very well about the chaos and discord and the importance of remaining removed from such bothers.

However, once every year or two, sometime round the third and sixth full Moons, the Littleton Town Council selects five of its citizens to journey down Powder Mountain into the outside world. It’s a scavenger hunt. The only rules are that anything they bring back must not belong to someone else. An example would be, you aren’t allowed to climb a tree to get an apple, but you can take the apple if it’s fallen onto the ground. No one ever worries about the rules because every Littlun is taught, from a very young age, that stealing is wrong and no Littlun would ever consider such an act — it just wouldn’t be Littlun.

Now, it should be noted that this is not just any outing. It is very dangerous and requires much skill and knowledge. The journey down the mountain is treacherous. More importantly, there can be no contact with the outside world, thus making a costume necessary.  To do otherwise, could put their very existence in jeopardy. No one looks forward to being selected, but each accepts the responsibility in the knowledge that they are fulfilling a community obligation and that the scavenger hunt will provide new seeds for planting, news of the outside world, and may provide surprises that could serve for good eating or interesting reading.

This is one of those days for a scavenger hunt.

Braybe Livingston teaches Littlun history to younger than young younguns. He can be quite impatient and has no problem expressing himself. One day he kept his whole class after school because he felt that they were not grasping the forefather’s text on the importance of self-government. Everyone really did understand how democracy has provided peace and harmony for all Littluns; they just liked to hear him talk. While most Littluns’ round ears stick out, Braybe’s ears point slightly backwards. His nervous temperament, quick walk, and lots of Crick-golf force him to eat more to keep up his weight.

Miskey Honeywell is the librarian for the town of Littleton. He’s read every book and from memory can point to any title’s location in the library. He even wrote several spy novels himself; the subjects of which can spur animated conversations. One such novel was about a spy commissioned to find Littluns. It kept many a Littlun up very late reading to find out if the spy was successful. Of course, the mole slipped off the mountain before he could reach the In-N-Out, which was a great relief to all of Miskey’s Littlun readers. Miskey has a slightly larger than normal head, which some Littluns credit with his great ability to store all that knowledge.

Letsen Overland is the most experienced of any youngun scavengers with, to date, a total of five outings under his belt. This will be his sixth. Normally, Letsen supervises all the gardening and tree trimming throughout Hollow Hills. He has a larger than normal nose and stands taller than the others by a staggering three inches.

Brandywine Weatherspoon , Brandy for short, is a gourmet cook, which is obvious when looking at him. He’s at least twenty pounds heavier than the average Littlun and quite proud of it. Brandy is often heard saying, “To be a good cook, all you have to do is buy a cookbook. To be a great cook, you write your own. That takes many tastings through trial and error, an insatiable appetite, which is no problem for any Littlun; and a tummy that welcomes change.”

There are many large and small waterfalls throughout the valley of Hollow Hills.

By far, the most impressive waterfall in the entire valley is at the Littlun residence of
Sneetz Summerville. He actually has three waterfalls that drop from the top of a rocky aqueduct into several elevated pools that empty into a larger waterfall that fills a large pool at its base. Pool parties and fishing are commonplace at the Summerville home. Being a youngun, Sneetz is still single and doing just about anything he pleases. Littluns usually get married and start a family when they reach middleun status.

For now, Sneetz has big plans. Somewhere between fishing, Crick-golf, parties, gardening, and general fun, he is contemplating expanding his living space. This takes a lot of thought and cannot be rushed. Sneetz comes from a long line of Summervilles who made their fortunes making and selling fishing lures. Fishing is easy with a “Summerville Lure,” and for as long as anyone can remember, there has never been any need for competition, making Sneetz a very wealthy Littlun. In his spare time, Sneetz continues to produce the Summerville Lure, which is sold in his store, appropriately named “Summerville’s” in the town of Littleton.

Littluns means “little people who live within.” From the inner crater walls of Powder Mountain to their homes and businesses built into the environment and community of Hollow Hills, Littluns symbolize all that is good and true.

Littluns measure about three feet in height, give or take a few inches, and are usually well-rounded in appearance, due to their insatiable appetites and the many social events that provide good reasons for good eating. They have very large ears, three fingers and a thumb, and furry feet with thick soles, eliminating the need for socks and shoes. The only exception is when going down the mountain on a scavenger hunt where boots also add several inches to there height, etc.

Birthdays are celebrated in a big way, but unlike humans, Littluns don’t measure age in terms of years. They sometimes refer to themselves as “younger than younguns, younguns, middleuns, or olderuns,” but without any number attached. They are forever young in appearance and retain a child-like innocence throughout their long life. It is estimated that Littluns live to be over three hundred human years, more or less.

A typical Littlun abode, Sneetz’s home is built into rolling hills surrounded with manicured trees, bushes and a multicolored garden. His pool flows out and down throughout the valley of Hollow Hills where it eventually merges into other rivers and multiple lakes.

The land of the Littluns is perfection personified, but today is Scavenger Hunt Day where the above five citizens of Hollow Hills will journey down from their secret mountain location to the lands of Terra Fermata and into the unknown.

Braybe, Miskey, Letsen, Brandywine, and Sneetz go down the mountain together where these five Littluns become trapped in a chaotic world on a road to darkness. However, beyond their present awareness, someone will oppose them:  Eqassym Enturim.  Possessed by the Evil One, Equassym is compiling all of Satan’s powers of Hell into one book, The Book of Darkness, wherein there are words reserved for his wicked purposes. This evil book will provide him with the benefits of two contrasting worlds, the living, and the corrupted dead. The Book was necessary for him to walk the land as a human being without limiting any of his demonic powers, and also because no single living being could be possessed by him and survive the total knowledge of his absolute evil.

To further conceal his true identity, at will, Eqassym can transform into a sorcerer, the Necromancer as the Evil One currently calls himself. It’s all part of his elaborate plan to eventually declare himself to be God and then rule over his perverse dominion. But The Evil One’s ominous Dark Book becomes lost, resulting in his becoming trapped somewhere between the living and the dead. To prove his superiority and fulfill his plan, he must have his Book back at all costs.

This faith-based story of innocence, takes you into a magical fantasy, but at the same time, very real world of current events, and Bible prophecy.

Littluns (the meek and innocent among us) is a contemporary, psychological study–story, that takes place somewhere between reality and eternity; about the good and pure of heart, in contrast to extreme evil in a world gone wrong in the end times.

Littluns is about Truth, Love, Hope, Joy, Enlightenment, and the Heart’s Desire, the experience of Eucatastrophe, The book of Light and Life. It offers a compelling yet disturbing look into a prophetic future where events can be disguised, people easily deceived, and truth restricted to only those who embrace it. This is a story of extremes and the choice we all have for good or evil, the Light or darkness.

Littluns is an action–packed, exciting alternative for millions of readers. It, too, will be marked with controversy because of its powerful theme, but in contrast, its enlightened values cannot be disputed and will live forever in this mythical world of wonder and enchantment that will warm your soul.

                                                              Foreword

Deep in the heart to each one of us lie innocence, malice, and an irreconcilable struggle for mastery over our souls. Alternately, they call out to us, each promising great reward if we will but ally ourselves with one or the other. But without a guide we cannot reach, nor understand or choose between them. To one belongs The Book of Darkness, revealed in the following pages. If unopposed, it seeks its victim and is implacably victorious.

To the other belongs The Book of Light and a word (Eucatastrophe), but it must be found or its powerful message will be lost forever to the one who needs it most. But if a guide to the heart steps forward, then the person he summons can follow the navigator to the realm of indefatigable innocence. The Chronicles of Narnia are one way; The Lord of the Rings, another. But Mark Glamack offers a third way with an unpredictable page turner and an ending so surprising as to be utterly true to life in the world as we know it.

Littluns creates a path into human experience that guides us to the very core of our soul—providing a key to peace and endurance as we await the renewal of the world at the end of time.

                                                                Chapter 9:

                                                   Ginnumgagap CONTINUED

...continued

“What now?” Modsoginie thinks aloud under his breath as he ponders what to do next. “I’ll wait. Yes, I’ll wait until Dragon goes to sleep,” he whispers to himself. “And then all I have to do is slip in, take the Fife and…and…but what if Dragon doesn’t sleep? Maybe serpents don’t sleep. Who knows! No one has been around a serpent and survived long enough to tell.”

He really has no choice but to wait and hope that Dragon will eventually tire and fall to sleep. Minutes turned into hours and hours into what seemed like days, but it is Modsoginie, not Dragon, who slips into a deep sleep. Modsoginie’s heavy breathing grows to a light snore that suddenly jumps into a loud, protracted snore that resonates throughout the entire cavern.

Dragon jerks his head up, blinks, and then looks around trying to pinpoint the source of the echo.

“Who’s there!?” Dragon commands angrily, smoke escaping through his mouth and nostrils.

Modsoginie jumps awake to Dragon’s voice reverberating throughout the confining space of the cavern.

“I don’t see you, but I know you are there,” the Dragon says, looking around. “Are you dinner? The Master promised dinner. Dinner, is that you? Show yourself!”

Modsoginie gulps several times trying to figure out what to do and then it comes to him. He sits up straighter, takes a deep breath and, with everything he has in him, yells out, “Dragon… I have come to free you!”

“I just got here,” a perplexed Dragon replies. “The Master puts me here and then you show up and say you want to free me? Why would Master’s food want to do that?” The doubtful dragon queries with a raised eyebrow.

“Because you are the last of your kind. You're the last of the great serpents that once reigned over this land.”

“True!” a less than humble serpent boasts, examining one of his talons as if he just had a manicure. He then drops his arms, leaning down while swinging the upper portion of his body around, searching for the invisible voice.

“But Master is very powerful,” Dragon grimaces, straightening upward, shaking his head as he adds, “No, nah, no, no, no, I don’t want him to turn me into a lizard again. Very humiliating, very small… it was scary.”

Dragon suddenly jerks his head up, eyes darting around the cavern. “How will you get me out of here? How can you undue what The Master has done? What gives you the power?”

Modsoginie has to think quickly and does.

“I am a Spirit!”

“A Spirit!!?” Dragon shouts, perking up excitedly.  “Show yourself, Spirit!”

“I can’t. He cast a spell that prevents me from doing that.”

“Ah-ha! You, too, huh? So how can you help me when you can’t even help yourself?” Dragon challenges doubtfully, now sniffing the air.

“We can help each other.”

“How?”

“How much is it worth to you?” Modsoginie’s voice echoes.

“I’m-m-m-m listening,” Dragon replies, raising one eyebrow.

Modsoginie peers around slowly, seeing that Dragon is now looking away from him. He looks around trying to spot the Golden Fife. He finally sees it, lying toward the bottom of the treasure mound, partially obscured by jewels and coins. He then quickly shifts around into the cover of the tunnel.

“You’re sitting on a lot of stuff there. Would you be willing to give me something in exchange for your freedom?” the Dwarf asks.

Dragon looks down and around at the treasure below him, he blinks several times and then, shaking his head frantically, says, “Oh, no, no, no, this belongs to the One.  He would be very angry. A lizard again I would be. No, no, no, too dangerous!”

“What if I only choose one little thing? You know, something he would never miss.”

Now, this is a very smart serpent that survived many a challenge to be too quick in making such an important decision. Dragon is now looking toward Modsoginie’s cave location when he questions, “What would a spirit do with a bauble?”

Modsoginie sighs, searching for an answer and then emphatically states, “Whatever I want! And if you don’t give me what I want, you will be here forever and as a spirit I could make things even worse for you with another curse!”

Now, Dragon has already had a very bad day and is not prepared to make it worse. At the same time, he’s no fool and is not about to take any unnecessary chances.

“Free me first, and then take what you want,” replied Dragon with a raised eyebrow.

“If I do that, what guarantees do I have that you will hold up your end of the bargain? I mean, you could take my bauble and fly away, then what would I do?”

Dragon thinks for a moment and curiously asks, “How do you plan to undo the curse? How will you get me out of here? I’ve already tried to blast and pound my way out. Too much force could collapse the entire mountain down on me. That would be a crushing blow, to say the least. How can you succeed where I have failed?”

“I am a Spirit.”

Modsoginie had prided himself on always telling the truth and now is feeling bad that he has lowered his standards. Even The Howlings didn’t possess the power to move mountains and that is what it would take to release Dragon from his tomb of solid, impacted granite.

“But what guarantees do I have,” Dragon asks flatly. “I could give you what you want and you could leave without fulfilling your part of the bargain. So, it would seem that we are at an impasse. Tattle if we do and tattle if we don’t,” Dragon sniffs the air as he takes one step off the treasure toward Modsoginie’s hiding place.

Dragon was right, and now Modsoginie finds himself searching for a solution when suddenly and unexpectedly, Dragon shouts out, “Come, and take your bauble!”

Modsoginie realizes that he is now in a bigger pickle. If he shows himself, Dragon will know that he’s a Dwarf and not a Spirit and just might eat him out of sheer spite. This is a most disturbing situation and he can only think of one thing to say.

“Okay, but you mustn’t look. To look upon me would have disastrous results.  You would be turned into a toad!”

Well, Dragon had already been turned into a lizard and was not about to take a chance on diminished capacity again, so he agrees and turns away. “How’s this?” he questions glancing over his shoulder.

“Farther. Go over to the wall,” Modsoginie commands, urging him away.

Dragon stomps over to the wall pressing his head flat against the rock.

“How’s this?”

Modsoginie peers around his hiding place and says, “Now, you mustn’t look!”

Dragon rolls his eyes, nodding his head slowly in agreement. Modsoginie cautiously moves out of the cave on his tiptoes, quietly making his way over toward the Golden Fife. Dragon stays pressed against the wall puffing steam over the rocky surface. His eyes shift over trying to get a glimpse of the spirit, but he would have to turn his head to be able to see anything. What Modsoginie couldn’t see was Dragon’s firm grip on a large slab of rock in front of him, against the wall.

Modsoginie reaches the treasure mound, but just as he bends down to pick up the Fife, Dragon shouts out, “Times up!”

He whirls around with the rock slab in his hands and sees the Dwarf bending over the Golden Fife. “You’re not a Spirit! You’re a-a-a DWARF!!!” His playfulness turns into a raging inferno as he exhales fire and smoke at Modsoginie. Modsoginie grabs onto the Golden Fife and whirls around, scrambling over the treasure and running toward the tunnel as the entire cavern fills with flames and smoke.

Dragon raises the slab of rock over his head and then heaves it across the cavern at the Dwarf. The slab flies over Modsoginie’s head smashing into the cavern wall just above the tunnel and then dropping down with a crash, sealing off his only exit. Dragon runs through the dense smoke in the direction where he last saw the Dwarf. He skids to a stop and fans the smoke, trying to clear the area to be able to spot the Dwarf. And then, at the tunnel entrance, he sees Modsoginie trying in vain to move the slab. Dragon approaches the Dwarf with a cocky waddle. He bursts forward picking the Dwarf up by the scuff of his shirt. Struggling, Modsoginie grabs onto his knife and swings it around at Dragon.

“Oh, my,” Dragon says with his other hand to his cheek, mocking Modsoginie.  “Is that a tooth pick, or is this the part where we fight?”

“Let go of me! I’m not your enemy. I really am here to free you…and…and get the Golden Fife.”

Dragon looks closely at Modsoginie with a satisfied grin.

“Me thinks that you’re here for that Golden Fife and nothing else, eh?”

“Okay, okay, you’re right. That’s the way it started, but now it’s different,” the Dwarf says.

“Oh…really. How is it different?”

“You’re not the only one that’s held captive.  On the other side of this cavern are spirits that are also held prisoner.”

Dragon raises an eyebrow with a touch of sarcasm, “You mean like you?”

“No, no. I’m not a Spirit. I just said that because, well…I didn’t know what else to say. You don’t exactly seem the type that would talk first and then eat.”

“Well, yes that is my way,” Dragon nods agreeably, and then continues, ”Besides, what can you and them outside do that could free me from this spell? Are you as powerful as the One?”

“I don’t know, but together, we can try.”

“Very interesting, but I don’t think so. The Master would be very angry and I wouldn’t want to be on his bad side. When he needs me, he will be the One to grant me my freedom. He giveth and he taketh away. He is the One. He told me so in a nightmare. I must be loyal to The Master!”

Dragon’s eyes narrow as he leans in close to Modsoginie, “And besides…all of this excitement has made me hungry. So here I am, and there you are…dinner as promised.”

Dragon is now nose to nose with the Dwarf when quick as lightning, Modsoginie jabs

Dragon in the nose with his knife. Dragon rears back in pain, letting go of the Dwarf.

Modsoginie drops to the ground, jumps up, and runs toward the back of the cavern searching for any possible cover or exit…
